Service worked well, small issue

I chose iContact for their email marketing automation and sign up forms. The process of setting up my first autoresponder series was mostly smooth; it took a bit to understand all the options, but it worked. I liked the subscriber segmentation tools, very useful for targeted messages. Their website said they had SMS marketing, which I was hoping to use, but that feature wasn't as prominent or easy to find as I expected after signing up. It would have been better if that was clearer upfront. Overall, the email part performed as promised, and I got a decent discount for prepaying for the year.

Good for email campaigns

I used iContact for a small email campaign. The drag and drop editor was easy to use. Sent out my newsletters without issues. Setup was quick.

Solid platform, quick support

I signed up for iContact's annual plan after trying their 30-day free trial, which was really helpful for testing it out. I needed a platform for managing email lists and sending marketing emails for my small business. The signup process was straightforward. I had a question about integrating my existing subscriber list, so I contacted support via chat; they responded quickly and guided me through it. The responsive email templates looked good on phones. Deliverability seems fine so far. Analytics are decent, showing opens and clicks. It's a solid tool, though some advanced features feel a bit clunky sometimes.

Hey, I run a small non-profit. Do they offer any special pricing for non-profits?

H Hannah P. 1 week ago
Yep! I got 15% off for my non-profit. You just have to apply and get verified, but it was pretty easy.

Thinking of switching to iContact but worried about moving all my contacts. Is it hard to import lists from say, Mailchimp?

W William Lopez 1 month ago
Nah, it was pretty straightforward for me. I just exported from my old platform and then there's an import tool. Took like 5 mins.

I've heard it's usually easy. Just make sure your list is clean before you import to avoid any weird issues later on.

Comparing iContact vs Mailchimp right now. Any strong opinions either way? Specifically looking for ease of use and reporting.

D Donna G. 2 weeks ago
I switched from Mailchimp to iContact a while back. Found iContact's interface a bit cleaner for reporting, but Mailchimp's free tier was a big draw initially. iContact automation is solid though.

Mailchimp's free plan is a hook, but once you grow, their pricing can get steep. iContact is pretty user-friendly, and I think their support is better than Mailchimp's if you ever need it.

Is iContact actually good for landing pages? Or should I just stick with a separate tool for that?

J Josh Sanchez 3 weeks ago
They do have a builder but it's pretty basic. For complex stuff, you might want a dedicated tool. For simple sign-up forms, it's fine.

I use it for my landing pages and it's totally usable. It's not like Unbounce, but it gets the job done for lead capture.

Does iContact have like a free tier or anything? Or just the trial?

N Nancy Gomez 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure it's just the 30-day free trial. No ongoing free version if that's what you mean.

L Luke L. 2 weeks ago
Yeah, confirmed. They only do the trial, not a permanently free plan like some others out there.
